There is a scare due to "Hydraulic fracturing", it is said to take away people's jobs, and threaten the economy.  The energy security may be harmed by the use of this "hydraulic fracturing", but it is hard to determine.  Banning the act is a possibility at the time, but is not certain yet.  The goal at this point is to acquire the most out of the process, and not harm people or the environment.  The fracturing is getting a lot of attention, but the importance is lacking in the media.  Natural gas would be formed artificially due to fluids under high pressure underground.  Contamination of water supplies are possible, and gases could escape.  More research will be done...

Tropical reefs provide food, and shelter for more than a fourth of all marine life, and now it may be at risk.  Due to the recent growth of change in the world's oceans-- bad things can only be predicted for the marine life.  The biodiversity of the oceans is not doing so hot, and may cause some marine life to no longer function properly.  There is an increase in acidification, and may cause not only ocean warming, but limitation of habitats to certain marine life.  If emissions of acidity continues to increase, acidity will increase 150 percent!  The eco life cycle will need to be examined to properly determine the risks of the acidity in the ocean.  Some creatures will be able to adapt, but not all will.
